John de Forte, the managing director of Proposals Training Limited, has advised professional services firms and knowledge-based businesses on bids and tenders for 20 years, conducting a wide range of training and knowledge transfer programmes on the subject.

Projects have included:

undertaking tender reviews and developing policy/best practice guidelines for a wide range of professional firms, including Big Four and second tier accounting firms, City and regional law firms, leading management consultants, chartered surveyors and actuaries;

advising on and drafting major tenders in the UK and across Europe for market leading firms in the accounting, legal, property, design and construction sectors

developing and conducting workshops to improve tenders performance;

implementing market studies and client interview programmes for a number of organisations, including law and accounting firms, barristers’ chambers, surveyors and property developers.

He writes and speaks regularly on business development and client management themes and is author of Proposals, Pitches and Beauty Parades, published 1994 by FT/Pitman.
